Brasserie Maris Piper opened its doors for the first time this spring in the Frans Halsstraat, the Pijp, near the Vondelpark. The establishment exudes grandeur, partly because of the use of colour, but with a casual twist so that everyone feels at home. The colours ochre, green, white and black dominate. The tumbled brass door fittings from Intersteel match perfectly and complete the decor with good taste.
Lunch in the light-filled sun lounge at the front of the building is a must, while the rear of the building with its darker colours and atmospheric lighting is the perfect place for an intimate dinner. Right at the back is the Chef’s Table next to the kitchen. Here one can enjoy a dinner with several courses.
“We looked closely at the style, the light and the chosen colours and, based on that, we proposed various options”, said George de Beer, Account Manager at Intersteel. “After good consultation, the ‘Baustil’ was chosen, a design that goes exceptionally well with the entire effect, particularly in the tumbled brass finish. Tumbling makes it beautifully matt and dark. It adds refinement to the tasteful interior in all its facets and provides the finishing touch.” The restaurant was consequently nominated for the ‘Best Restaurant Design 2018’ for the Entree awards.
It also offers the necessary security: Intersteel’s external door fittings meet the highest security standards. It is SKG*** certified, which means it is heavy duty, burglar-proof hardware.
