A restored villa in Leeuwarden has retained its authentic appearance by retaining the original architectural details. At the same time, the property fully meets the requirements of our time and modern materials have been used for a stylish and contemporary interior.
Because the finishing touch is in the details, the inner and outer doors have been carefully examined. Sigrid Medema of Medema Interieurontwerp consulted with Maarten ter Horst, project advisor at Intersteel, about the choices that had to be made. For the outer doors the choice was made for the stylish model Jupiter door handle in matt black, complete with safety escutcheons. This is combined with black hinges.
The inner door and window fittings had to fit in with the image of the time in which the original villa was built. That is why model Ton 400, matt nickel with ebony grip, was chosen. This window and door fitting is made of matt nickel brass with an ebony handle. Ter Horst: "A practical consideration was the use of magnetic locks with a stainless steel front plate on the inner doors. This finish, in which the latch bolt disappears into the door as soon as it is open, has a minimalist look, which also makes it an excellent choice for stylistic reasons in combination with the matt nickel brass door handles".
